Live Performance Drawing

From drawing from film in dimly lit cinemas in long concertina books, to blink at you miss it trapeze acts, drawing live, capturing the moment and vital energy of performance has formed a significant part of  Vanessa's drawing practice in recent years.

As Brighton Festival Artist in Residence 2024, Vanessa Lawrence explored and celebrated live performance at Fabrica Gallery, Spiegeltent, and Picture House Cinemas.

​Vanessa continue to draw live as an invited artist London Fashion Week and in collaboration with designers such as Paul & Joe Paris and brands such as Faber Castlle.
